A church and adjoining church hall were adapted for use as two separate residences. External additions to the original envelopes have been designed as sleek modern pavilions with glazed links to the heritage buildings.
Mezzanines appear to float within the spaces. They were introduced within the original volumes to increase the floor area while allowing the original roof structures to remain visible and retain the original spatial qualities. The living spaces are located on the upper levels with bedroom spaces on the ground floors, lit through an innovative combination of windows and glazed ceiling panels designed to ensure the stone walls of the church did not have to be altered.
